An idea for anti-spam is never a bad thing, but this particular idea just doesn't seem practical.. Anxious

wouldnt work.

what happens when there is a currency question on quizaboom? ...I go in to rapid-fire.

Dollar
rupee
pound
lira
quetzal
guilder
krona
krone
etc.
etc.

If it only kicks off after repeating the same thing, spammers would follow a pattern:
up, enter, up up, enter, up up, enter, up up, enter

...aslong as both words are different, it would be easy to bipass.
hes right we do all go into rapid fire once in quiza-boom

Suggestion:
If someone says the exact same thing multiple times within a short period of time, a number stored on the server increases. (the value depends on how much)
If someone swears, the number also increases. (+1/word?)
When the number is above a certain limit, you can't say anything. (+3 or 5?)
The number decreases over time (-1/hour?)

This would of course be difficult to implement, though.
Much like the way wikipedia anti-vandal bots works.

Sadly, they are sometimes flawed. I got blocked from editing once because my code "looked like a spam url". (Don't ask me how that was possible.)

I approve. The lego website does that, and it will soon happen to CP. Another alternative would be to give users pre-made sentences. Obviously, there would be no questions to avoid cyberpredators from gathering people's personal information. The answers "yes" and "no" would also be eliminated, as "no" can be viewed negatively (negativity is never good, specifically around childrens), and "yes" can be viewed positively during bashing.

Or, alternatively, we could simply stop people from speaking when they swear. Since the letter A, E, I, O and U are seen in most of insults/spam, they would always be censored. Words longer than six letters would be censored too, as they are extremely hard to moderate and kids don't understand them anyways.
