thanks mochi
should we model the spamming warning system after the red bar system?
The only difference is a warning would be verbal (and not appear on the profile page). Does that seem fair? _________________

Well, really, I think it would be best to just warn users who are defying the rules. It's pretty obvious. Verbal warnings get us nowhere.
By the way, when a user is banned, they are banned from logging in, which means both a BTC and a forum ban. It is possible to ban users from BTC for a day if a mod is in the same room, but that's not the case here, of course. _________________

can it be modified so that people are just banned from the forums? _________________

I suppose it is possible to prevent a user from posting on the forum (but not from reading, as any guest could read stuff). However, we don't have that kind of system, nor access to the posting-ban keys. It's a bit too complicated, I think, and Ioji doesn't need the extra work.
In any case, posting in those topics counts as spamming on the forum. Therefore, there shouldn't be any "special" system/treatment for one specific offense. _________________

it doesn't have to be implemented now, maybe when he isn't busy or when the mods desperately need it. _________________
