The compromise of this is not to buy food/drink and live off your lamps.

Sorry to be a kill-joy, but this is a flash animated website, it is impossible for any animals to get drunk or eat the bottles because the items most probably get wiped off the site when they are placed into the bush.
It's the same with the 'wasting electricity' and 'wasting water'.
