Recently, as everyone has no doubt noticed, there has been a sudden rise in the number of useless threads posted by newbs. These threads are a waste of everyone's time and fail pics.
As a possible solution, what about adding a required post count to start threads, in a similar way to posting links. It wouldn't have to be high- 20 or even 10 posts would be low enough.
Hopefully, this would lead to the new people looking at other threads first and getting an idea of what is a worthwhile thread. If not, by the time they can start spammy threads, they won't be new enough to have an excuse.

I agree.
By the way, why can't we have a posts number requirement for pictures too instead of having to approve them? This could make the mods job easier.

Well, las time I checked, the link count was at 100 (which is tyrinically high), if they decide to follow that, you can make the limit at 50-150 posts
seems like a good ides to prevent freedom for newer people, causes them to be more involved here

I don't think it'll cause more spamming necessarily, though some other topics may go off some other path. But we won't know 'til we test it, see?
