How did he do it?
For those unfortunates who don't live in the UK/it was past their bed time:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMIzR6GNAXw&fmt=18
And if you're really unfortunate and have never heard of him
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derren_Brown
He will reveal all on Friday night, but for now let's just speculate wildly and without foundation
Next week he claims he will incapacitate viewers, making them feel that they are stuck to their sofa, using a subliminal video _________________

Well, I don't like being a sceptic (or however it's spelled), but I can think of a couple ways he could've faked that.
1. The lottery could've been pre-recorded, and he watched it before doing the prediction.
2. While the camera was on him and the TV, he could've had someone else put all of the same numbered balls on the rack thing.
Of course, I didn't see the whole thing since I don't live in the UK, so chances are he probably disproved those before hand.
Tell me if I'm wrong. _________________ Newest Comic - Paranoia |

I love Derren Brown!!!
I watched all of his "Mind Control with Derren Brown" shows on the Sci-fi channel.
Its a shame they had to cancel his American shows. _________________

The lottery can't have been pre-recorded as anyone was able to flick between the two, they were broadcast simultaneously.
The balls were visible the whole time. _________________

I'm with the "Split Screen" theory.
Could be the video quality, or just an incredibly skilled cameraman, but I'm convinced the left side of the shot freezes at around 2:04 - 2:10. _________________ TUB THREAD.

Yeah I reckon so, I saw a video on youtube showing how it could be used, apparently the white ball on the very left moved up a bit as well. Would he be able to make the wobbling camera effect live though? |

It'll be interesting how he tries to explain it. He does have something against the National Lottery.

He's done that before, not on the live public though. Should be nice to see if it works. _________________ ^captincroc |

I think it's possible it will be cut out of the show. Some kind of health warning. |

I've been waiting a while to see the show, I'm quite sad I missed the first stunt, but I can't wait to see how he did it. _________________ Repeat Stuff |

I'd first like to point out that it's impossible to be a fix; the national lottery is broadcast by the BBC, and was being shown live also so that, as Benj said, you could flick between the two channels. Secondly, it's impossible to predict the lottery, so it's already been narrowed down to some form of technological trick

Same
Thirdly, if you really buy the whole 'I've been working on this all year' thing, I'm surprised you can't recognise that Derren Brown lies exstensively about everything- he's just adding to his act
Don't get me wrong, I love watching Derren Brown, his mind tricks are amazing and he freaks the hell out of me. But this one is a bit of a cheap trick, nothing like the genius of his stage acts, extraordinary memory and psychological manipulation
(I did like how it was being shown on Channel 4, More 4, Film4 and E4 simultaneously, Derren Brown has Channel 4 wrapped around his finger, hahah) _________________
