Since BBcoding can be modified for the individual, i was thinking Ioji can implement either none, some, or all of the following ideas:
Note: the tutorial is for UBBC code so i'm not sure if they will transfer to BB.
Link
For those who can't view it for some reason, here's the list of ideas:
*[glow=white,2,300][/glow] ~ glowing text
*[shadow=red,left,300][/shadow] ~ shadow text
[move][/move] or [marquee][/marquee] ~ moving text
[pre][/pre] ~ pre-formatted text
[left][/left] ~ align left text
[center][/center] ~ align center text
[right][/right] ~ align right text
[hr] ~ divider bar
[font][/font] ~ changing the font
[blockquote][/blockquote] ~ indentation
[img width=insert width here height=insert height here][/img] ~ to modify an image to a given dimension
[table][/table] ~ add a table
[tr][/tr] ~ to add a column
[td][/td] ~ to add a row
[sup][/sup] ~ superscript
[sub][/sub] ~ subscript
[tt][/tt] ~ typewritter text
Generally "Good" ideas:
[spoiler][/spoiler] ~ Spoilers
[hint][/hint] ~ Hints
[nobbc][/nobbc] ~ Disable taging/coding
* Only works on IE _________________

Nice, but wouldn't it be a bit annoying with some of these?
If we have preset formats for each individual person, then I think they should make the colors a little easier on the eyes, like yellow and bright cyan.
Very good, but I think there should be a spolier one too
[spoiler][/spoiler]
It would make the text appear as a black square of nothingness, but when you scroll over, the text is revealed, so people can know that the spoiler is there, and choose whether or not to see it. |

It might but that why these are just ideas.

Already thought of that

Update the first page to include those _________________

According to UBBC coding, both of them work. _________________

Glowing text I think is only doable in Internet Explorer. I don't think the glow tags should be done unless a way can be found to stretch this across most browsers.
Shadow text falls under CSS 3 and I don't think there are many browsers capable of doing this currently. It would be a waste to add this now until the older browsers are safely phased out of use.

This can introduce so many new problems that it's not even funny. First images can be marquee'd so I don't know if the mods would be able to validate them. If this gets enabled in sigs, this would be used to bypass signature rules. There are possibly more problems, but I should stop now.

Unnecessary. Use:
Code: |
[code]Coding here![/code] |

[table][/table] ~ add a table
[tr][/tr] ~ to add a column
[td][/td] ~ to add a row |
These forums are built using tables so it's a bad idea to enable users to be able to use tables. If one user screws up the table BB code, they'd seriously break the look of these forums.

This has been depreciated by the pre tags. And we currently have code tags so... |

Ok, the glowing and shadow text is out.
I'm investigating the [marquee][/marquee] tag problems, but it looks like that the image needs to be validated before its can be displayed.
The pre-formatted and typewriter texts are just for appearance (which may or may not be needed).
The table function may be a bit complicated for the normal user, but it could prove useful.
Also (if you looked at the link provided) the table doesn't take up much space and won't affect the look of the forum. _________________

Most of these seem...unnecessary or superfluous...
The best would be /spoiler. /Marquee would be nice, but it would get annoying very quickly. The rest don't seem to do much anyway. _________________

The rest are only useful for "forum appearance" _________________

Even so, it's adding a lot of complication for codes that do very little. |
I'm not suggesting that Ioji does all of them.
I just posted a list of many UBBC codes.
Ioji (and the viewers) can pick and choose which ones they like/want. _________________

That's a good one.
Here's the marquee one in action
(Note: If you sign in in that forum, the background turns black so the black box would blend right in.) _________________
