Hello, fellow citizens. I am here to announce that I have fixed the long-term server connection problem apparantly once and for all.
As some of you know, my friend Davix was unable to get into any public area, and out of my concern and limitlessly charitable character, I decided to do what I could to help him, and I SUCCEEDED.
Now you probably want me to get to the point, so I will post directions here, and explain how (I think) it works under.
1: www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html
2: Find the little box with a list of some of your recently visited websites in it.
3: Click "delete all sites" or whatever it's called (the lighter colored button) and the list of sites should go away.
4: Go to Google, or some other warbears-irrelevant page.
5: Delete browsing history, cache, etc ALL OF IT. Even files and crap stored by add-ons. I have IE, so I only know how to do this using IE, but if you have something else, I'm sure it won't be too hard finding out how to do so in another browser. Here's the IE instructions.
A: Click the Tools button with the little gear next to it on your top toolbar, far right.
B: Click delete browsing history > delete all > check the little box, and delete.
6: Go to Warbears and log in, and you should be able to get into the public locations. It worked on Davix, who had the same problems as the others, so it should work on anyone else with this problem.
NOTE: You may have to repeat step 5 if when you log in, it says "Error logging in"
Now I will explain how this works as best I can, and feel like explaining it. Most people know about cookies stored by your browser. However, few people know that Flash also stores cookies. Going to that site will delete your flash cookies, which seems to be the problem that keeps you from getting in. After I'd heard that deleting regular cookies doesn't work, but getting on another computer does (with different flash cookies), this seemed to make sense, so I pursued it. If you have any questions, I will probably check up on this topic from time to time to answer them. You can make my trophy later. -Doctorgregory _________________ Please.... kapaaaaach!

lolwtf
It should be directly above the little grey text paragraph:
Note: The Settings Manager that you see above is not an image; it is the actual Settings Manager. Click the tabs to see different panels, and click the options in the panels to change your Adobe Flash Player settings
If you don't see it, perhaps you don't have the latest flash player (9).
If you do, and continue not to see it, try refreshing it, or coming back in 5 minutes or something. If you still cannot see it, all that I can think of doing would be seeking out another way of clearing your flash cookies, cuz I'm sure there's more than one. Sorry to who it's not working for. (As a final thought, if you aren't viewing it with the IE browser, perhaps doing so would help, though you probbaly wouldn't want to go about installing a whole browser until you've tried everything else.) _________________ Please.... kapaaaaach! |

I checked the site and the box didn't show up. Upon refreshing the page a few times, though, and waiting about 20 seconds in between, it did. _________________ Please.... kapaaaaach! |

Canon was unable to make it work, but managed to by googling for it, then using the google link to go to the page. Maybe if one of our considerate mods made my link workable it would be more efficcient. It doesn't really make sense, but whatever works. It's not so much that it refuses to work for people as it's just prone to not showing up for a while. It looks like either way, if you screw around with it a little, you'll be able to see the box. _________________ Please.... kapaaaaach! |
