Didn't know where I should post this, but this seemed like a good place to start.
WARBEARS HAS BEEN RIPPED OFF I think
I was recently browsing the interwebs
in school, trying to find a games website that wasn't blocked,
until I stumbled across one in Filipino (I think?)
There was this game called 'Hotel Sugo'
Hotel Sugo
Gameplay

As soon as I started playing I was like O.o, aren't
those the people from Warbears? Then I noticed
that the 'hotel' was actually the Bank from Mission 1.
I don't know weather this was just like, the first
version of Warbears or something but I just thought
I'd inform you guys. _________________

Yes it is a rip off there are exactly the same characters and very little new stuff.

I remember another member brought this up some time ago, although I'm not certain anything happened in the end. Get on that lawsuit Ioji! _________________ "Common citizens? Wisdom? Is this some kind of a joke?" - Kristoph Gavin |

And not to mention they've turned a great game into an incredibly boring one. |

Yeah
I mean the characters don't even have walking animation. _________________

Well, is the game actually popular? If it's not then it's not that big a deal. Most people start off the very basics of skills through copying.
But if this game is actually known among quite a few people, then I think it's an issue. _________________

Dunanunanunanuna objection!
Wow. It's not just the characters, it's the trees, the background, the ground, the vent-fan, the vent, and even the building is used up from the missions. The only thing I can see that's different is there's no spider on the second floor.
EDIT: Hey, Ioji can sue this guy and get money, therefore updates are faster! Or at least one update. Possibly Probably Maybe. |

Well it is on a Filipino website, so it may be popular among that community.
+ I only found it on that website but it may be on many others.
E: I Googled the english name of the game 'Bellboy hotel manager' and it is on quite a few other games sites. _________________

Ioji might made that game secretly. |

Why would Ioji make a game in secret. And then make it suck? _________________

Actually, he may have a point. Ioji could have made games before Warbears, and he just might not have done them as well as the missions. Strictly speaking, he could have reused the sprites from that game for the Warbear missions, or the other way around.
I'm not saying this is what I think, but just a thought.
On the other hand, lots of it does add of to a ripped-off game. Ioji would probably spend more time on a game then that, and anyways, he's making missions for us. It was mentioned earlier about the characters not having a walking animation; that's probably because Ioji didn't ever make (Or at least use) a walking animation for citizens until he invented the Multiplayer BTC. I think we should inspect a little more closely before we make any HUGE assumptions. |

FYI, that's not Gio's handiwork. This game was previously posted on the forums by a watchful citizen, and Ioji managed to get it taken off of Kongregate, but besides that there's not much power he has.
Some people, you just have to pity them... _________________
