Maybe it was just a fake plot point that Ioji threw in to get us excited, but that we'll never see any mention of again.
...What? Don't stare at me! |
It might be important in the last mission... |

Theory 1: The warbears have lost their memory during the transfiguration process and that the shiny object is is what transformed them, but they have no memory of it.
Theory 2: That object is just the power source for the transforming machine, and the warbears have a few memories of what happened, just not enough to remember that the object is the transmorpher. |

Were the warbears the only ones transformed ? I mean, what about the groundhogs and the fishmen, were they like that naturally or did they go through the same transformation-device-thingie ? |
That is actually a good question. It is entirely possible, although I have some doubts about it for the fishmen. |
THAT is a good question.I discovered that fishmen is a legend |

Dude... all of you are wrong. The warbears once lived in the sewers and got exposed to radioactive material and now lives somewhere underground with a mutant rat.

If the shiny item is the key to reversing their transformation, and the Commander doesn't want the Warbears to know that, he'd hide it. Maybe he hid it in the vase (my theory 1's hole). But the Commander didn't seem to be alarmed by the knowledge of the fact that Steve has it. Also he made no mention of the shiny orb later on. Still, I think he thought that Steve doesn't know what it is up to now (my theory 2's hole). More theories later. _________________ Hello!
