Christmas has come early for me!
I got paid today, and it's a beautiful thing seeing your bank balance go over £1000 for the first time.
Yes, I could save it, but where's the fun in that?
It's already back under.
To £800. |

I say this as somebody you probably haven't heard of. But heed my advice people...
Don't just celebrate Christmas with presents, and trees, and expensive Christmas dinners. These are all products of over-commercialisation, and not what Christmas is about. You may think that it is about worshipping god, or jesus or something.... it's not.
Christmas is a time to think of others, not just your family or friends, but the less fortunate... the people that don't have a home to celebrate Christmas in, or are eating things out of rubbish bins. The people that can't afford a cup of coffee.
As a child, that was never drummed in to my head. It was all about presents and good times, and seeing family... but as a recently turned adult, it means so much more. I was walking along the highstreet doing a last minute bit of shopping earlier today, when I came across a man strumming away on a guitar, I don't know the guy, but I see him often playing for tips, and often throw in whatever loose change i have in my pockets. I walked up to him with a pound coin (it IS Christmas!) in hand ready to throw into his guitar case as tip... but he stopped me and said "no mate, not today. This ones for everyone else". I smiled a confused smile, and went on my way. It was only later I realised, "it's Christmas Eve, the guy is clearly strapped for cash himself, yet he refuses my money". If that's not a good deed then what is?
I guess the moral of the story is that there is always someone worse off than you, and there is always something you can do to help them. _________________
