I have a couple of theories (theory which means not yet proven) on your law there (yes I already did an observational study on that).
1. The Romance Theory (thanks to bleach risotto)
-PMS ing girls and adolescent and almost all girls are suckers for romance.
2. The Peer Pressure Theory
- (This is my preferred theory) Twilight is just something that a popular girl likes so her peers followed her trend and to be cool, a person is forced to actually like Twilight.

I believe the series Twilight was an interesting seriese. To tell you the truth, I didn't really like the first book, however I enjoyed the rest of the series.
