It seems to me that if you used a different browser in the past, and swithced to Firefox(I've tried with others, none of them wouldn't work for me), it won't allow you to log in.
When IE crashed for me and wouldn't ever re-install, i switched to firefox via my friends computer and a memory stick, and this wouldn't allow me in BTC. Rather than report it, i dowloaded Opera, and began using that.
Firefox has some sort of jealousy problem about you using another browser first. _________________

Nearly every browser does that. It's so you know it's your default, there is generally a check box ordering it not to do it any more.
I do have this problem on my college's system which resets our browsing history as soon as we log off, this would include the cache. They use IE but it doesn't happen on the Windows Tower next to me which runs Firefox. Nor did I didn't have this problem after formatting Firefox on my Mac. Now, the only problem is, what's causing the problem.
The browser, PHPBB or the website in general? _________________ ^captincroc |

Here's a thought. Does anyone that are reporting log-in problems have Javascript disabled?
This site requires both Flash and Javascript to be active. I've had no problems using the site (though I don't hit up BTC) under:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 |

I've heard Firefox disables JS by default. I'm not entirely sure but I'll check when I get home.
I'll also ask one of the IT staff at my college since this can happen to me. _________________ ^captincroc |

When i tried using firefox, JS and flash were enabled, and it still didn't work. I recommend switching back to the previous browser you were using, and have it open only for warbears if you find it too slow. _________________

That's fantastic but it isn't long term use of Firefox that the problem is affecting. _________________ ^captincroc |

Please use http://www.warbears.com and not http://warbears.com when you log in.
If you log in from a page without 'www.' it sets the cookie only for pages without 'www.' and redirects you to a page with 'www.' in it. The new page won't notice the cookie (because it doesn't work for pages without 'www.') and causes the illusion that the login didn't work.
A bug report about this issue already exists. It might be fixed in the future.
TL;DR Always use http://www.warbears.com and not http://warbears.com (without 'www.') when you log in and you should not have the problem. |

Oh, so THAT'S why it happened. I go straight to warbears.com/forum, which seems to add the www automatically, canceling the effect. _________________ Punch a duck |

I didn't. I just stay in the background.
...but I felt that this thread needed my knowledge.
I suspect that my solution works and that any further discussion is uneccesary. But I would love to have someone confirm that it works. |
