Not sure if this has happened before, but the journal died in a strange way.
My Internet is connected through the phone line and the phone line takes priority, so if someone calls me while I'm on Warbears, my computer will display "A local area connection is unplugged" for about two seconds, long enough to lose connection.
Using Mozilla Firefox 3.0.7, though it's happened before on Explorer.

Does this happen every time you get a call? _________________

It's happened before- people occasionally disconnect without getting the message on their own screen.
I'm going to do some tests, but the only way of preventing this would probably be to change your connection or refresh when the problem occurs. _________________ Rorschach avatar by Benjamin Lebowski.

I don't know why, but this always happens to me when I close my laptop for 2 or 3 secs and open it again. _________________ ~ Freeze C.

That's because when you shut your laptop, it cuts off the internet connection. _________________

Yeah, your internet turns off its wi-fi and it stops working, that's why you see a lost server connection message, although this doesn't happen on all laptops. _________________

What does the journal "died" mean? _________________

No, I think he meant it broke, as in you can't scroll up in the journal anymore. _________________

No, if you look at the screenie, it would any show his speech, nothing that anyone else said. (Except for whispering, so I dunno what that's about) _________________

Ben, what he meant was that his journal broke and he lost server connection at the same time, and he was wondering why that happened. _________________

Is it a little vague? Let me explain.
Ok, so I was working on something with Poi. I got a phone call and NORMALLY, that disconnects me from Warbears. I normally receive that usual "Lost Connection" box.
However, on this instance, I had attempted to walk around and talk while the call was RECEIVED (which happens to be why my connection breaks; if I send out a call to someone while using Warbears, it does NOT lose connection).
On this instance, the journal CLEARED ITSELF, not showing any text except any that I happened to speak after it did. I COULD, however, see movement on my screen, however I was "deaf" to any speech. Apparently, I may have been muted out of the conversation; you'll have to ask one of the guys in there for that, likely Poison. Even whispering happened to have no effect; the whispering you see in the snapshot is mine to Poison.
Hope that clears things up a bit.
Note: I did not lose server connection. _________________ T-minus 0 seconds. |
