Plankto's comments at the start of part 3 suggest that the warbears used to be human and were turned into bears. Since the commander and warbears do or say nothing to deny this, it's probably true. Does anyone have any theories why, apart from because it seemed like a good idea at the time? |

Maybe it was just a fake plot point that Ioji threw in to get us excited, but that we'll never see any mention of again.
...What? Don't stare at me! |

You don't know for sure. Just because you're a moderator doesn't mean you know Ioji's every move. |

True. Though, I do talk with him enough to guess half of them.
Also, it's an educated guess. _________________

HAH. I think that the key to their transformation is the shiny object. |

I doubt that.
Let's remember that it was put in the training house, and neither Steve, nor Lucas seems to know what it is. So it must've been placed there by the commander, or the penguins. But if it had actually been a part of their transformation, I'm sure the Warbears would know of the object.
After all, Ninja Turtles know what transformed them. |

Were the warbears the only ones transformed ? I mean, what about the groundhogs and the fishmen, were they like that naturally or did they go through the same transformation-device-thingie ? |

That is actually a good question. It is entirely possible, although I have some doubts about it for the fishmen. |
