The Idea was vaguely given some interest in the Minecraft thread, and now I'd like to start it off.

Rather than worry about the technical side yet, I'd like to have the community, even those not involved in the physical work (Don't want to/don't own the game), discuss the general theme, plot and which texture pack (even making a custom one) it would be optimized for. Traps, puzzles and such shall only be discussed by the builders privately, so it doesn't ruin the fun ;P

The main things I would personally suggest would be that the map requires no mods to function, other than the texture pack, it's fun, lasts a decent amount of time and has at least some form of plot behind it and rather than being pure Parkour/exploration/combat it contains a mix of all three, yet none to any extreme (avoiding rage-quit).

Oh, and perhaps we can name it?

I could host a server for this project. Not 100% sure about it tought. And it would be probably on in inconvient times for most of the people in this project.

It's an adventure map. You need to make up some kind of adventure.

Ok so to answer your questions Yes it will be built on a server, but nothing else has been decided yet.

Now plot; Would people be open to say, a plot similar to Mission 1? It'd be a bank robbery, yet you'd be alone and (obviously) the methods would be different. We could also do any one of the missions, or a combination if people would like.

When the plot is decided, and the first location at least given a vague image, rather than having everyone immediately join and begin building, I think a few people landscaping and setting basic foundations would be best, so there is some form of control when it's opened up properly. Please don't worry about this now, we need to decide on the story, not puzzles and such, just the story behind it.

Warbears and Minecraft = Warcraft Adventure map.

THIS WONT GIVE PEOPLE THE WRONG IDEA.

Are there any mods where you can make NPC's which give quests and stuff? Trying to work out the limits of what you can do in a Minecraft Adventure map.

If we do use any mods at all, would someone volunteer to check compatibility and create an installer for it, for minimum hassle?

I'm in for severe/minor tech stuff, and map creation. But does it have to be totally warbears based? Couldn't we just sorta make a few references to it, rather than base the entire map around it?

Anyone that wants to, my server is on right now for some trap tests and such.

On the Hamachi 'WarbearsMinecraft' (no pass) look for the IP next to 'Ksaurus', and it's all the numbers before the slash.

I've had an idea!

In mission one, when you disable the floor with water, you could make that a sand trap? Use water to extinguish the torch causing the sand/gravel floor to collapse Smile Dropping you down.

It's just a thought that popped into my head Smile
