Disprove the existence of God? Definitely not. It's ignoring the answer what makes life worth living in the first place.

I think knowing for sure that there is no "God" would definitely improve your life. Knowing that there is no "heaven" waiting for you on the other side would certainly encourage you to do more things whilst you're alive, wouldn't it?

Right. Both would make you realize how much time you REALLY have. Is that a bad thing?

Pancake, have you even realized how much time there is left?

You seem to devote all your time to correcting people on the interwebs.

Quite true! If you think about it, 85 (average) years of living isn't a long time! You would argue this is ironic to write on a web forum but meeeeh; I'm making the most of my young age.

Yes, because you know all about what I do with my time through posts on a forum. By your logic, you spend every waking moment complaining about me.

And I'm not talking about how much time is left in your life, I'm talking about how much time there just is. Your lifetime, and nothing after that. I think people who accept that will make the most of the time they have.

The worst. Both are finite, and ephemeral in comparison to eternity. I believe there are 6 billion people in this world who would much rather be timeless, and live to achieve it.

See, most of my trust goes to science. To me, the answers to these questions are all pretty straightfoward.

But at the end of the journey, the only thing that's gonna put a smile on my face will be my lack of "common sense". The belief that there might be a surprise party waiting on the other side. I don't think that, as humans, we are meant to know whether there is a God or not.

Of course, if I had to choose between spoiling the surprise and having no wrap-up party at all, it is quite obvious I'd pick the first.

It's just weird that whenever someone states an opinion you're right there to tell them how stupid it is.

The only real way to win an argument with you is to not even post, because no matter what someone says, you'll have some carefully thought out comeback.

Yeah, me too.
Also, I'd much rather die THINKING there was a heaven afterwards, than know there was nothing, even if the latter was true.
