Leroy, you don't have to agree with anything, but have no right to be argumentative about something personal that someone has decided to share with a community of trust. |
The thing I said wasn't aimed at anyone, it was merely a thought going through my head at the time. _________________

Ok, I'm really sorry Twig but I think I won't remember all those terms to replace "he" and such words. |

If you're that lazy, then just refer to Twigglet as Twigglet. _________________

I'll try to the best of my ability to explain what is wrong with this comment in another way.
A dude is born as Bob. It's a nice name and all, but he thinks that it doesn't suit him very well. He always thought he was more of a Steve than a Bob, so he decides to get his name changed to Steve.
Would you keep calling him Bob in that case because you're too lazy to learn the name Steve?
Tl;dr: Call people what they want to be called and don't be an idiot about it simply because you're too lazy. |

I think i'll post one thing about this, then we should move away from the whole topic, lest we clutter the randomness thread.
Cw wants you to call hir Cw, or Twigglet. Hir pronouns are ze/hir, which are really REALLY easy to remember as far as a lot of non-binary pronouns go!
It can be a little difficult if you've never used non-binary pronouns before, but try to have a bit of courtesy if you're going to talk about cw and use the correct pronouns. Or we can just follow you around constantly correcting you which would probably get irritating after a while.
Please don't be a jerk because you think its funny. Just be a decent person and respect someones pronouns, and gender. (And don't mock it just to be difficult either.)
I havent checked with Cw on this yet but i dont think ze would mind if you used singular they/them? hold off in that untill Cw tells me its okay, though.
If you still want to talk, send Cw (or me or any of hir other friends involved) a pm

I think a better example is when a woman gets married and people still call her by her maiden name when she wants to be called by her new name. _________________

I prefer ze. Saying its hard to remember new pronouns is silly because
A) most people here fluently speak two languages, so like four extra words aren't that hard to remember
B) you remember everybody else on the forums pronouns, regardless of whether you saw them in BTC or not. I've never once seen Pancake in BTC and yet I have the courtesy to remember he prefers "he"
C) Most of you know my real name and called me it for a while, despite having known me as "Twigglet" for years beforehand.
Please, it's just common courtesy.
They/them isn't really ideal for me either Shoe but I appreciate the suggestion o: <3
EDIT: if you really want I can edit my profile to say my pronouns on so you can always check there |
