Hello, everyone, and welcome to the first group dedicated solely to comic makers, the Comic Makers Union!
Due to the massive increase in people making comics, this group has been made for all of you.
It's being run by Frankengoober Simpson and me, Simon Brancacane, and I hope it will make being a comic maker that little bit more fun.

Also, don't forget to visit the other forum group: The Warbears Graphics Association!

Changing Your Ratings

It's come to my attention that some of you aren't happy with your ratings. So, from now on, whenever you'd like to get better ratings, just PM me with a comic you think is good enough to get you better ratings, and I'll see what we can do.
Note: If your comic is not good enough to get better ratings, don't worry, you can't lose any either.

Ranking

When you join, you will all begin at the first rank, Doodler.
Winning comic competitions and events in BTC will help you rise in ranks.
You will also be given three ratings, two out of five, one out of ten.
The first out-of-five rating refers to the comedy shown in your comics. Basically, how funny they are.
The second out-of-five rating is for the quality of your comics. Basically, how well they are presented and edited.
The out-of-ten rating is the combined rating of the previous two ratings. This is your overall rating.
Now, the ranks in ascending order;

Doodler - I could have sworn it was toilet paper but it was one of your comics. I used it anyway...

Ink-Monkey - If you squint, it kind of looks like a comic!

Professional - You're getting better but your comics are still like the raisins in Trail Mix. No one wants them.

Comic Guru – Ghandi would be proud.

Comedy Genius – You're the Einstein of the comic world! Yup, you're wrinkly and have crazy hair.

Legend – We're all glad you chose to make comics and not thunderbolts.

Avatar and Signature

To prove you're a member of the Comic Makers Union, why not use an official, personalised avatar and/or signature?
If you want an avatar and/or a signature once you become a member, PM me, Simon Brancacane, by clicking here, with a screenshot of your character, preferably in an empty house.
You can be dancing, jumping, sitting, waving, anything you want, but you must be smiling! Wink

("Smiling" includes Grin grin, Very Happy and Smile faces.)

----------Resources----------

The following are useful resources for comic makers;

Speech Bubbles and BTC fonts

Mr Simpson's Comic/Avatar/Sig Resources

The above thread contains fonts such as the ones used in BTC and speech bubbles of varying sizes.
You don't have to use these, but they can be very useful. I personally recommend downloading the fonts, they come in handy.

All credit for the above thread goes to Mr Simpson (Mr._Bear).

Applications

The following is an application made by Funny Lebowski. If you're having problems with idlers that are in the way when you're trying to make comics, this application is a useful tool for removing them. Check out this demo if you want more information.

To download the application, follow this link.

It's an AIR application, so if you don’t have AIR, you can get it here.

Okay, I've added Captin's template, and made the "Comic Templates" section a little shorter.

About the competition, Jon's joke, I don't get it. Plus is it really a comic?

Oh and why is he an honorary member he makes comics fine, that much is obvious as he keeps on winning the comps.

He sent me the comic as a normal image as well, but I let him use the GIF as his entry.

This is the non-animated version:

Actually, is it meant to be that Taco is standing in front of their screen?, It's just that there are no christmas trees either side of the tv when it shows them watching it and Taco suddenly disappears after his scene, as well as the two people on the sofa disappearing on Taco's scene.

Have I got this completely wrong?
